The Safety Dave 9‑Pin Powerloom is a key electrical harness that supplies power, video, and audio between older Safety Dave rear‑vision cameras and monitors.

It is used only for non‑AHD (standard definition) monitor systems and typically installed under the dash.

  • These 9‑pin looms replaced the older 8‑pin style in AHD models starting January 2023
  • This 9‑pin version is used in older standard‑definition Safety Dave monitors + AHD systems introduced around January 2023). Newer models use 9‑pin or 12‑pin powerlooms instead .

  • The powerloom is typically installed under the dash or kick panel, near the ignition/accessory switch, and it provides connection and routing for the entire system .

  • Standalone 9‑Pin Powerloom: Just the main connector harness; sold as a replacement for older Safety Dave monitors

  • 9-pin connector: Adds an extra signal pin compared to the older 8-pin harness—often to support higher-resolution video or audio triggers.

  • Plug‑and‑play compatibility with AHD Safety Dave monitors.

  1. Camouflage & Sheathing: The wires are grouped into a loom protected with PVC/braided sheath to guard against abrasion, heat, and moisture.

  2. Vehicle Integration: Designed to tie into ignition/accessory circuits under the dash for power control.

  3. Accessory Functionality: Supports connecting a standard‑definition reversing camera (often with power, video feed, audio feed if supported) through the connector.

  4. Durability: Designed for use in caravans, trailers, 4×4s and off‑road vehicles; robust and weather‑resistant materials .

  5. Plug & Play: Compatible with the older Safety Dave monitor systems — easy swap if your original powerloom is missing or damaged.

While exact wiring may vary by model, the harness generally includes:

  • 12 V Ignition/Accessory Power

  • Constant 12 V (Battery Feed)

  • Ground (Chassis)

  • Video Signal (to monitor)

  • Optional Audio Feed

  • Possibly power‑antenna or trigger circuits, depending on camera system variant.
